Runners! We hit 1,000 backers!
You are all incredible <3. Just under a week left in this campaign.
Let' get into the update!
CBR+PNK @ ORIGINS 2025
At Origins 2025, Mythworks ran 5 sessions of CBR+PNK! I (Ray) personally ran Jota's AKUMA: LABYRINTH OF THE MIND 3x times and DARK CITY once. Our AirBnB game of Akuma in particular was incredible - we had 9 players in an engaging, engrossing session where we defined who this person Akuma was, only to tear them apart in the virtual mindscape of their memories.
The highlight came when one of the Runners claimed they didn't care about Akuma, which led to two of their core traits - their sense of style and love of dance - to be forever destroyed. IT was one of those sessions that remind you why you play RPGs and had me PUMPED all show. Good times!
CBR+PNK ON THE POCKET DRAGON PUB (ACTUAL PLAY)
The session was so great, that one of our GMs for Origins, Hanz, ended up running it for their session, and then again last night on the Pocket Dragon Pub Livestream with some familiar faces you may recognize! Check it out below:
DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT: MICHAEL ELLIOTT
Today we have a trio of Designer Spotlights, starting with Michael Elliott, designer of the recently unlocked KILL PARTY.
Read the spotlight here.
DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT: MATTEO PEREGO
Next week have the first of three Italian designers working on CBR+PNK, Matteo Perego, with their scenario SPACCANAPOLI. Race against time as you try to prevent Mount Vesuvius from erupting again!
Read the spotlight here.
DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT: SEQUENTIAL JAMES
Finally for today we have Sequential James, designer of the John Wick-inspired Crescent Parallax scenario. If you ever wanted to run a Judge Dredd, Escape the Block-esque scenario, this is the one you're looking for!
Read the spotlight here.
NEXT UP: TIME LOOP BY MATTEO
At $50k we'll unlock the next scenario - TIMELOOP by Matteo Sciutterri (whose name I can never quite spell). This is another one I'm extremely excited for - ever wanted to play LOOPER or GROUNDHOG DAY in an RPG? Yeah, me too! Matteo is an incredible designer and I'm sure we'll be seeing tons of zaniness with this one!

Alright everyone, that's it from me for today! Do make sure to check out those Designer Spotlights when you get the chance!

Hey Everybody,
Welcome to week two of the campaign! In today’s update, we’ve got a pair of new designer spotlights and a couple of cool projects we think you should check out, so let’s dive in.
First up: two incredible designers from Brazil!
We’ve also asked all our designers to put up community copies on their itch pages for the project, which we’ll link below. If you don’t see them just yet, check back in a few days—they’re a great way to sneak a peek at what’s coming. Please note that these are not the final versions that will be published with OVERLOAD. We’re working with our amazing editor, Helen Hey, to polish up the writing and design, and we’ve got some great artists cooking up new cover art as well.
With that out of the way…
DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT: LEONARDO AZEVEDO
Leonardo Azevedo designed a pair of pamphlets for OVERLOAD, both of which feature explorations of artificial intelligences - a very timely and thought-provoking theme, given our exponential ramp up of technology.
Check out Sun of a Glitch here.
Check out Basilisk here.
DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT: JOTA PE CORVUJA
Jota Pe Corvuja designed the excellent dungeon ... AKUMA: LABYRINTH OF THE MIND, which takes place... in the mind! It's a great reflexive scenario that allows for a lot of collective worldbuilding from the players and is easy and straightforward to run - perfect for an introductory score to CBR+PNK!
Check out Akuma: Labyrinth of the Mind here.

These Designer Spotlights have been really fun to read! Great insight to everyone's design process and philosophy. I'm personally looking forward to reading the rest as they come in!
To wrap up today's update, here are a pair of awesome projects from some of our favorite people in the indie TTRPG space...
Our friends over at Jumpgate Games are crowdfunding for GALACTIC & GOING ROGUE by Jess Levine - two gritty, cinematic sci-fi RPGs. Galactic is a storygame of rebellion, hope, and hard choices in the shadow of empire, while Going Rogue delivers a sharp, snappy solo experience about vengeance, betrayal, and doomed missions. Both games are packed with style, tension, and that sweet, sweet space drama.Take a look and back it here.
Hellwhalers: Book of Leviathan is the latest campaign from our friends at Plus One Exp, and it absolutely rips. It’s a doomed whaling voyage across an ocean teeming with cosmic horror, strange leviathans, and crew members just barely holding it together. Think Moby Dick meets Monster Hunter with a healthy dose of existential dread. Check it out and show them some love here.
MYTHWORKS AT ORIGINS GAME FAIR 2025
We'll be at Origins Game Fair 2025! Stop by and say hello or play a game! Hope to see you there! Otherwise, catch you next week!

Hey Everyone,
We freaking did it! Lezzgooo! Thank you for helping CBR+PNK: OVERLOAD get funded on day four!
We're so stoked to be able to be bringing you fresh CBR+PNK from its amazing community of designers. We have an incredible slate of creators and rather than us introducing all of them, we decided to do a series of designer interviews so you can get to know them better. Starting with...
DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT: NETSCAPE
Did you know that Mythworks Co-founder Vincenzo Ferriero also creates work under the name Nobile Press? Netscape is an original pamphlet that plugs you straight into the matrix...
Trial Netscape Now. (And by Trial I mean it's on Itch right now for PWYW... I know a lot of people have been asking for previews of the pamphlets so consider this the first of many!)
STRETCH GOALS
Alright, let's talk stretch goals! Because we're running an anthology, the stretch goals we have for this campaign help us share the love among all of the designers and help bring in new ones! You may have also noticed pay raises for the designers at certain intervals. That's the beauty of anthologies. We get to shine the spotlight on a whole community of people and showcase their works!
We pretty much gave the designers free reign to pitch whatever they wanted. This is what Michael Elliot sent us...
Calamitant Coda, diletant, psychonaut, last scion of a wealthy family, is infamous for her private parties. Reality warping explorations of drugs, technology, and the occult, bacchanals of earthly delights, performances of rare arts and services. She is throwing one last soiree, at the top of the Coda Spire, with hundreds in attendance. Welcome to the...
KILL PARTY
Unlocked at $40k. Let's get it shooms!
